Mankind was supposed to hunt and collect food to survive and not move 900 ton megalithic stones around. ![]() So these ancient stones aged 9000 years and older weighing 900 tons and more, how did they do it? Arguably these 900 ton stones were placed thousands of years before the Roman Empire was at his peak. The Saipem 7000 can lift 7000 tons to lift oil platform rigs, it is several times bigger than the actual thing they need to lift. But the cranes are getting humongous as they need to lift bigger things. Yes todays biggest cranes can lift up to 7000 tons. Modern mobile cranes can lift 330 tons with hydraulics. You need so many Roman cranes that there is no space to do the actual work. So the best the Roman Empire could come up with to lift is 6 tons?! Compare that to the Trilithon stones weighing 900 tons. ![]() The maximum the Roman’s could lift was 6 tons with their cranes. Moving and lifting a totally different ball game. They’ve build a custom truck with a length of 290ft and had 196 wheels. In comparison in 2012 there was a project to get a 350 ton rock in Los Angeles traveled a 100 miles. It was suggested it was rolled into place by hundreds of men, or 400 ox. ![]() Stephen Wouw 3 күн because there are sites where some granite stones weighing a 900 tons and more quarried but not moved over 1500 tons, and several stones weighing 400 tons, even for today that’s a lot! It was lifted 30ft to put in place and it traveled half a mile from where it was quarried.
